It’s Friday…..ahhhhh.

It’s been a weird week for me.  It started a little something like this…

And it’s ending with me losing, yet again, to a random stranger on Words with Friends.

And I’m just really tired.  Really, really tired.

This morning, Ella and I had a conversation that went something like this:

Me: I have your clothes on the couch for you.

Ella: I’ve already picked my clothes out.

Me: Yes, I saw that.  But I just picked a shirt that matched the pink skirt better.

Ella: I wanted to wear the orange shirt.

Me: But it doesn’t match, sweetie.

Ella: I didn’t want to match.

Me: Oh, okay.  Well, go get your orange shirt.

She has a style all her own.  She likes to wear her clothes backwards, wear her shoes on the wrong feet and sleep in a bathing suit at night.  And sometimes…I let her.

My class on Wednesday night did not go quite like I had hoped.  In my head, I imagined sitting in a circle on the floor with some sweet girls while we talked about Jesus and how He gave David the strength to defeat Goliath.  They were going to laugh and declare that this was the best class they had ever attended.

I may have set my hopes a little too high.

There was a lot of screaming…a lot of running around the room…and some drawing of womens’ undergarments on poor Goliath.  It’s bad enough he got defeated by a child…he has to wear a pink bra now, too?  That’s just wrong.

This week has just wore me down.

I think I need a cupcake.  Oh, good.  There’s one now.

Why, hello sweet potato cupcake with cream cheese icing.

Don’t mind if I do.

That is a great way to end the week.

Now…does anyone know a word I can make with an M and three R’s?

🙂 Stacy

Yay for the restorative powers of cupcakes! I hope it was only the car that was damaged in whatever happened. Not a good way to start a week.

I’m all for letting Ella pick her own style while she can, before too much peer pressure has her dressing like everyone else. (though I’m just self-proud enough to be sure to declare to all who hear that she dressed herself!). Pink and orange – why not! I think I’ve made a wallhanging with those colors; it looks a bit like a dreamsicle.

I laughed out loud when I read your comment. I do make sure people know she dressed herself! I need to learn from her to care a little less about what people think. Have a great day!

A simple Google search gives us the following:

    armourers
    arrowworm
    demurrers
    mirroring
    murderers
    murmurers
    performer
    premerger

    …and many more!

By the way, I stand by Ella’s decision to wear orange and pink, but that’s only because I’m 33 and I’ve worn one such color combination in the fairly recent past! Although, it’s just one of my “schlump around the house” outfits. 🙂

I’m mildly competitive. Heh. Mildly. Whatev…

I fight like the dickens to always be on top of the leaderboard on Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook! I haven’t been beat in several weeks!

What a great entry! Brought a smile to my face, but I am sorry about the “fender bender.” :o( You are so wise to let the “small things” go with the little ones, there’s so many big ones out there that really do matter. So what is she wears an orange shirt. How cute! Blessings to you!

We really do have to pick our battles. My Ella has taught me that lesson well! I would have never let my oldest out of the house with one pink flip flop and one purple one. But, I’ve done it with Ella!

      Have a great day, Lea!

Let her pick those clothes, and keep on telling everyone she dressed herself… I would totally do that!

Sorry about the fender bender, no fun…but I’m totally sure the cupcake helped. Although, I probably would have had to have some chocolate.

    Have a great weekend!

I have simply given up trying to dress my 4 year old. Most of the time, even when she doesn’t match, she still looks cute. Too bad I am not cute enough to pull that off! It would definitely save me time in the morning!

I had the same fantasy about how our Wed night with those girls was going to go. I was a bit frustrated after class. I’m trying to figure out what we need to do differently to engage all of them & keep their attention. As for Goliath’s attire, I wanted to tell them I didn’t think Goliath was a drag queen, but that’s probably not the most appropriate thing to say to 1st grade girls. 🙂

Sorry about the dent there. Not a great way to start off. I’m with you on the blah week. =(

I could have totally had that conversation with Melody. They do have their own sense of style though. =)

Here’s to a weekend that’s better than our week.

What a week!! The car… not so funny! The rest made me chuckle. I too have a 4 year old and so right you are about picking the battles. She often hears me say, “Oh you look like you don’t have a mother!” Poor kid will probably have to have years of therapy because of me :/
That cupcake looks and sounds divine! Wishin’ you lived next door!
    Have a great weekend!
