It’s Five Minute Friday again! People all over the world blogging on the same topic on the same day for just five minutes and linking up at Lisa Jo’s place. Today’s topic: Again.
I recently heard a song that has been on replay in my mind. It is by Matthew West, Out of My Hands. This verse…
There you go healing these scars again
Showing me right where you are again
I’m helpless, and that’s where I start again
I’m giving it all up to you
There You go…healing these scars again. Healing is present tense. It is what you need for a current pain. Scars, however, speak of an old wound. I think we all have those old wounds that sometimes creep up on us and begin to hurt as if they had only happened yesterday. God is so gracious to tenderly care for the fresh pain of old wounds.
Showing me right where You are again. How many times have I cried out, Where are you, Lord?, only to have Him remind me that He is right where He has always been.
I’m helpless…and that’s where I start again. I love that we can start again…and again…and again. There are no do-overs in life. We make mistakes and suffer consequences. But, with God, there is forgiveness and forgetfulness. He promises to remember our sins no more. With God – we can start again, fresh and brand new.
It is a good word.
